Invisalign® clear aligners are an FDA-approved, innovative treatment process used to straighten teeth with transparent, removable precision aligners. The precision aligners are custom-made for you out of durable, flexible thermoplastic instead of the hindering metal brackets and wires of normal braces. The aligners fit snugly over your teeth according to the digital impressions of your mouth taken at NuClear Smiles.

Benefits of Invisalign?

Unlike traditional braces and other orthodontic appliances, Invisalign aligners aren’t bonded to your teeth. Dr. Jon Moles specializes in creating custom-made aligners allowing you to eat, brush, and floss without the interference of wires. You can also temporarily remove them for special occasions. Other advantages of this popular orthodontic treatment include:

Less Dietary Restrictions

With braces comes a long list of foods to avoid during treatment. Clear aligners allow you to still enjoy your favorite crunchy and chewy foods.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case and varies for each individual, with the exact length being determined by Dr. Jon Moles after an evaluation. However, the average case takes about 12 months for adults while treatment length varies more widely with teens who begin with a mix of adult and “baby” teeth. Teens are also typically in need of growth modification which can take additional time. Throughout treatment, Dr. Moles monitors your progress closely and provides updated estimations.

How Does Invisalign Work at NuClear Smiles?

Invisalign aligners can treat numerous malocclusions in teens and adults. Of course, there are still some situations where braces would be the recommended treatment method, such as instances of impacted canines requiring surgical intervention. In these cases, Dr. Jon Moles would make a recommendation for you to see an orthodontist who still uses brackets and wires to straighten teeth. Our orthodontist will discuss your options with you to ensure you achieve your desired results.

Clear aligners work the same way traditional braces do, applying gentle forces to slowly shift teeth into an optimal position to straighten and enhance your smile. At our office, we often combine traditional orthodontic methods with Invisalign aligners for young patients requiring a functional appliance, such as a palatal expander. Invisalign aligners are used in place of the brackets and wires which will necessarily follow the expander for the young patient.

Dr. Moles uses advanced 3D computer graphics and X-rays to design a personalized course of treatment. A few weeks later, we receive your precision aligner system from the lab! We will then set up your delivery appointment at a convenient time for you. Your first sets of precision aligners will be delivered to you by our state certified technicians. Our technicians apply any needed attachments as designed by Dr. Moles and educate you on how to succeed with your plan.

Most patients will wear a set of precision aligners for seven days before switching to their next set. Try your best to wear them at least 22 hours a day to ensure your treatment moves along smoothly. We will introduce you to our specialized phone app, which you use every week before it’s time to switch to ensure that you are “tracking” properly. With regular use of this app, patients are able to truly “tailor” their treatment to their own body’s response to the aligner therapy. After you receive confirmation from Dr. Moles through the app, you will move on to your next set of aligners that continue to gradually move your teeth until your smile is perfect. In all, your treatment is broken down into several dozen stages, which is why it’s important to always wear your aligners as advised by Dr. Moles and keep in close communication with our team. We are here to assist you! By using your monitoring app, Dr. Moles will be able to provide you with a “house call” anytime you need it! Most patients return to our office every three to four months to receive their next stage of aligners. At our office, we treat you until you are HAPPY!
